The opening ceremony of the dormitory building was done on November 9, 2012. METU Secretary General Prof.Dr Hami Alpas, Governor of Van Münir Karaloğlu , Public Prosecutor of Van, YYU Rector Prof. Dr. Peyami Battal and personels of YYU, From our Corporate donors Meral Eredenk Kurdaş on behalf of Türkiye Sigorta ve Reasürans Corp and BES / Bireysel Emeklilik Sistemi, Columist of Cumhuriyet Işıl Özgentürk on behalf of Kadın İşgücünü Destekleme Derneği, The President of Alumni İstanbul Association of METU Mehmet Rastgelener, Board members of Eymir Kültür Vakfı and Members of coordination committe of METU IN VAN, former minister of tourism and journalist Ahmet Tan were attended to the opening ceronomy


Female students had settled to their room and made their room warm like home
